Underground Fibre Engineer

As a Underground Fibre Engineer your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: 

  • Build & deliver successful first-time fibre infrastructure to current PIA standards 
  • Test & commission Fibre Network Infrastructures 
  • Troubleshoot individual and wider network issues 
  • Fusion splicing 
  • OTDR use 
  • Installation of Customer Termination Point 
  • Adherence to all Health and safety practises  
  • Correct use of equipment and procedures 
  • Maintain all tools, equipment and vehicles to a high standard 
  • To help maximise the number of installations and to meet strict deadlines. 

Skills & Qualifications required: 

  • Organised and proactive approach to work 
  • Ability to work in a strong team environment 
  • Uses own initiative to develop ideas and practices 
  • Excellent time-management skills 
  • Flexible approach and positive attitude to work 
  • Full UK driving license  

Desirable but not essential: 

  • Knowledge of Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) process
